This round-up is all about the joy of cosy weekend baking — no birthdays or bake sales required. Just the simple pleasure of warming the house with the scent of apples, spice and sponge, maybe after a crisp morning walk or a lazy Saturday morning with the radio on.

Collage featuring 4 cosy weekend bakes titled, "15 Weekend Bakes”

Nicky’s Notes

There’s something about this time of year — when the air turns crisp and the jumpers come out — that makes me want to fill the kitchen with the smell of cinnamon, caramel, and buttery sponge.

These are the bakes I turn to when I fancy nipping to the shops for a bag of Bramleys because I need to make a crumble cake – fun fact Chris and I did this a couple of days ago.

They’re all tried-and-tested recipes that always hit the spot. A mix of nostalgic puddings, traybakes that make the house smell amazing, and a few cheeky showstoppers for when you’re really leaning into the weekend. Whether you’re baking with the kids, hosting Sunday lunch, or just treating yourself — there’s something here that’ll feel like a hug from the oven.
