Sweet, Spicy and Chewy Popcorn for National Popcorn Day!

    Published: Jan 19, 2016 · Modified: Jul 6, 2018 by Nicky Corbishley

3 amazing recipes for popcorn - whether you like it sweet and chocolatey, stretchy and chewy, or spicy and savoury - it's all here! Forget about popcorn being the side snack to go with your favourite sweets and chocolate - these popcorn flavours are the main event. Coconut Marshmallow Popcorn, Savoury Spice Popcorn and Snickers Popcorn!

Popcorn 3-ways - Snickers, Marshmallow & Coconut and Savoury Spice. It's national popcorn day!

Why on earth do we have a national popcorn day?  I have no idea, but I'm more than happy to join in.

Starting with the savoury - it's lightly spiced with a sprinkling of parmesan. Way tastier (and better for you) than a bowl full of salted nuts.

Next up is the Snickers popcorn. OMG!

Popcorn 3-ways - Snickers, Marshmallow & Coconut and Savoury Spice.

Peanut butter, melted with honey and sugar (so maybe those salted peanuts are a little healthier, but what the heck, I'm on a roll now). Mixed in with popcorn, it coats it with an almost fudge-like chewiness. Honestly perfect on it's own. Sprinkle it with chopped up Snickers and melted chocolate?

    erm yes.

That's my dinner sorted. I want nothing else.

    Although......

Marshmallow coconut popcorn?? Ok, I still have a little bit of room left!

Popcorn 3-ways - Snickers, Marshmallow & Coconut and Savoury Spice.

Marshmallows melted with butter and sugar, then poured all over the popcorn to create a stretchy, chewy snack.
I like to sprinkle it with a little toasted coconut too, because....

Well just because I want to!

If you eat it warm, it's so chewy and stretchy. However, you can also squash it down and let it cool, then cut into popcorn bars!
    Portable snacks (happy sigh).

Happy popcorn day everyone, I hope you like the recipes. Let me know if you try them (and which one you like best!). And if popcorn isn't your thing please check out my other treat recipes, enjoy!
