Blog Income and Traffic Report June 2016

Interested in knowing some of the behind the scenes stuff for Kitchen Sanctuary? Here’s the latest in my blog income and traffic report June 2016. Check out my previous reports here.

blog income report jun 2016 Almost time for the summer holidays guys!!

School finishes in a week-and-a-half and I’ve no idea how I’m going to fit in work along with a house extension, keeping the kids entertained for 6 weeks and a week away in Italy – which by the way I’m sooo excited about.

We haven’t been abroad for a few years and we’ve never been to Italy before, so I’m envisioning sunny days eating seafood, pasta and ice cream, all washed down with, erm, wine? bellinis? I don’t really know what the popular drinks are in Italy…

We’re spending one night in Venice, then a week on the south east side of Lake Garda. If anyone has any recommendations of where to visit with the kids (good places to eat, attractions etc) then I’d love to hear!

Ok, let’s get down to the numbers and then I’ll talk a little bit about what’s been happening in June. I really hope the info in this post gives you some insight and ideas if you’re new to blogging and monetization.  Also check out my How to Start a Food Blog post if you are thinking about giving this blogging thing a go too!

Traffic

A little bit of a drop in traffic with 4k fewer pageviews than in May. I’ve been expecting a bit of a drop over Summer – with August likely to be the lowest performing month. Here’s a screenshot from Google Analytics for June:

Based on my stats from last year, it should hopefully start to pick up a little in September/October:

So how has June been for you?

I’ve been doing lots of trips – mostly to London – over the last few weeks. Let me see:

  • A day at the BritMums conference where I got to meet up with some blogger friends that I’d never actually met before.
  • Visits to some Christmas Showcase events – I went to the Ocado one on my own, then Chris came down with me to the Morrisons and Tesco ones. It was the first time I’d attended any of these type of Christmas events before – but it was great to get a sneak peek (and lots of taste testing) of all the food and drink that’s going to be in the shops over Christmas.
  • Chris and I also attended a Nespresso cafe opening in London  – where we enjoyed some amazing coffee cocktails, plus lots of nibbles and cakes (there are a couple of photos on my Instagram page if you want to take a look).

Although we generally pay for the travel/accommodation through the business for these events, it’s great to be invited and to make some new contacts.  Here’s hoping the invites keep coming in 🙂

We’re also off to the Foodies Festival in Knutsford next week. I ran a little competition over the past week or so (my first time running a competition on my own) as we were given some tickets for ourselves, plus 3 other pairs to give away to readers.
I was panicking at first – thinking I’d only get about 10 entries, but I got nearly 500 in the end, so I’m happy that it seems to have run quite smoothly – especially with it being a very local UK event.

That’s all for the June report. I hope you’ve found this info helpful. Please let me know if there’s anything you want me to talk about in a future report. Just drop me a note in the comments 🙂
